Problems with Firefox

Yeah. Well, my computer crashed Friday. After rebooting it and reinstalling windows,, I went about the ardous task of reinstalling all of my programs. After I was done, I ran Firefox and got this:

Any ideas what could be causing it (ie. is it Firefox itself or something else).

Looks like your profile for firefox got screwed up.

Create a new profile. Start > Run ... "firefox.exe -profilemanager"

Create a new profile and use it to see if that fixes the problem. If so, select it and then check don't ask for profile.

Okay, now I need help getting it so it doesn't underline links. I know it's really simple, and I know I've done it before, but I can't remeber how I did it.

Tools -> Options... -> Content Tab -> Colors... - > Underline Links.

Now it seems to be reseting itself every single time I use it.

Does Firefox in safe mode work?

If so, something is really screwed up. Your profle may be corrupted.

Right, so, this picture shows what is up with it:

the white border around the tab currently being viewed in the tab toolbar shouldn't be there, and I'm unsure what to do about it.

Try it with no extension. I noticed some of my extensions screwing up how the browser functions like that.

Okay. I fixed it. It was a compatability problem between the newest version of Tab Mix Plus and Firefox 1.5.0.9. To fix it I installed and older version of Tab Mix Plus.

Now it is giving me grief with pictures. I randomly loads half of a picture then stops, or loads the picture blurry, and the only way it can be fixed is by loading the page multiple times. It occasionally gives me crap loading the basic frames and background bits of website, too.

Maybe it's still compatibility issues between the extensions? I'm not sure. I've never had that problem.

What version are you using?

I don't have that much experience with Firefox, I generally use Opera. Why is everyone so interested in Firefox? Why is Firefox better?

I've finally updated to 2.0(.0.4), but it was happening a little before that too.

It gets weirder: IE tab loads things fine, despite being embedded in Firefox.

Backup your profile directory and reinstall Firefox... see if it works without your profile first.
