in my detention right now

Why do you have detention?

Detention is the most pointless thing ever. It doesn't teach you a lesson. It just makes you miss the bus home and make your parents have to come and get you.
I got it twice in high school for stupid things.

I got detention once in 6th grade for not doing my homework.

I still don't do my homework =D

I've had detention once. It was for throwing french fries in the lunch room when I was in seventh grade. I never got caught again for doing any of the other terrible things I did after and throughout high school. Learn your lesson and don't get caught.

i didnt sign out of study hall and she was having her period on me along with the 36 other people and i have it agian next week cuz i was playing basketball in the gym during lunch time.

Detention is just as much of a punishment for the teacher as it is for the guy who misses the bus or basketball practice or whatever it is he's supposed to miss. Do you think the principals choose the teacher they dislike the most to proctor it?

I never thought about that, happy. I guess it's probably true, though, come to think about it. I just thought everyone had to pull detention duty, but having never gone TO detention, I don't really know.

haha thats funny cuz during my detention i went on AIM and was talking to other people in my detention about how bored our proctor was just sitting their looking at us lol

Friday detention for drawing comics in class bc I already finished writing notes and doing my homework...shit what else was I going to do? We had an hour left until class was over. Anyways, the guy thought I was drawing them about him...when the only guy in the comic was a teenager, with blond hair, not brown. Eh moron...he thought it was a threat or something bc the chick character killed the blond guy.
& a Saturday detention for walking out doors I wasn't supposed to...wtf is that?
I think they're supposed to give out so many detentions in a school year, and if they didn't meet that, they just give them out to people who aren't doing anything wrong.

What's funny is the things that I actually did that were wrong, I never got caught doing...same goes for my friends at the time.

I'd have been in detention a lot if my teachers assigned it if you were drawing in class. But hey, I also drew a comic of a person (well, a weasel in my case) killing another person (mouse...), who was representative of the fellow sitting next to me in the class who'd pissed me off. He saw it when I was done and thought it was awesome, which was amusing.

Y'know, you're probably right on that. That they have to give out a certain number of detentions. Because sometimes they give them out for the most asinine things (like going out the wrong doors, or up the wrong ramps in my brother's case) and I can see them doing that for some stupid bureaucratic reason assuming that kids are always going something bad and if you don't catch at least 5 (or so) a day, you're obviously just sitting and letting it happen.

I hated dentention. Ours was an all day dentention or we had Saturday dentention which was for a half a day. I don't miss that part of school in the least.

I never got detention, though I got a couple of "go home for the rest of the day" days when I was in school. I think things are different now though.

1) For one day. I climbed onto the catwalk, got stuck, and got caught.

2) For five days. Blambed for writing a note saying, "My name is Joey Peebles and I hate Niggers."

Haha...my brother does stuff like that ALL the time...I'm surprised he's never had a detention. Or maybe we (my mother and I) just don't notice because he walks home from school all the time, which is miles away. He likes hanging out with friends afterwards and we actually like those days best haha

lol at the end of our school year (now) teachers give out detentions for stupid ass reasons cuz they need people to help set up the desks in the gym for finals which start in a week

I got a detention once in ninth grade, so I made fun of my teacher all class after she gave it to me, so she ended up taking it away. No teacher had given me one after that.

No, they don't. Expulsions will, but I don't think detentions or suspensions will. In anycase, anything you do before and in high school that isn't illegal doesn't really matter after you graduate. It's not important.

When you get accepting into college, don't fail all your high school classes...

As a general rule, yeah. But most community colleges will take you no matter what, so you could always do to one of those and then head on over to a proper university or whatever it is you want to do.
