I hope England responds accordingly.

I hope this doesn't become a trend of more frequent problems with terrorism, that would be an incredibly difficult thing to deal with as a society in both England and America.

Maybe they'll stop complaining about our 'persuasive methods' when getting information from these guys now.

It's never ending... Egypt was attacked too this weekend.

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050725/ap_on_re_mi_ea/egypt_resort_attack_2

Makes me sick that my children will have to grow up in a world that is not showing a good trend and that trend seems to be worsening.

I was listening to some talk radio and Mike Savage suggested that we do the same to the countries in the middle east. Namely, bombing there seaports and other such industries without actually saying we did it and then let the terrorists take the blame.

I don't know about that, but something needs to be done. We need to tighten the strings on immigration and such, lose the H-1B visas.

I have been in this opinion for a long time. The American government is too busy telling other countries how to run themselves rather then dealing with their own crap. I have long associated the American government with a bossy big brother in it's relationship with other countries.

You can try closing the border to Canada, but we'll just <a href="http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2002404244_tunnel27m.html">build a tunnel</a>. Wink
(That's one nice export!)

As any American nowadays, we are a bit weary about any sort of immigration. But Canada is cool. I don't worry about our northern friends Smile. Just make sure Canada's borders are locked! (And that's the problem)

I agree, funny story and a nice export.

I'm not so sure that we have to worry that much when China does become a big threat. We are too far down on China's shite list for them us to worry. The problem is, that the people at the top (Russia) are our allies, making us get invlolved anyways. However, I must say that closing down the Canadian border is a hugely stupid move. It makes no sense to me at all. What it does do, however, is increase shipping charges of goods made in Canada. What goods? Roughly 1/3 of all automobiles made in North America. (About 1/4 are made in Mexico, the rest made in the U.S.)

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!

Canada also imports large quantities of oil to the US. Canada also charges LESS for exports than what Canadians pay at the pump. Figure that out. Even so, this $60/barrel crap is not good and if gas hits $3/gallon in the states, prepare for a big nightmare for all the stupid politicians.
