It seems to me (to my unapproval) that politics and religion get along fine. I believe there should be no correlation between religion and politics, considering that politics has to do with the government.

It's the Separation of Church and State problem. Our "crack pot" Government has taken that out of context. We shouldn't be removing the 10 commandments from Court Houses, we should be putting them up everywhere. This Country and it's values and morals were founded on Biblical principals...what the heck happened? Greedy politicians got greedier.

Just read what the Declaration of Independence says.

" We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. --That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

I think church and state should be seperate for obvious reasons, but I don't think that going insane about injecting a bit of religion into the government/soceity is a worthless endeavor.

First off, Religion is a man made product and should not be forced down anyone's throat or throw in their faces(biblical moral standards however SHOULD). It is not biblical. Biblical values, like the ten commandments, are not derived from any one given Religion like Christianity or Cathlocism, it is derived from God's word.

Yes the Physical Church and the Physical State(Government) should be separated, but that does not mean the same thing that our politicians think it means. We should STILL have "Church" values within our State and Government ideals.

Heck, this darn country was founded on "Church" values. Why are we(The State, politicians etc.) pushing it out? Why now?

The idea of God is also a man made thing. It is there to explain why we are here and such. Before you get into a flame war with me, I do believe in God. Existence didn't just come out of nothing (Likewise, what is the begining of time?)

We just have the mind to wrap around the issue. If we create lifeforms, we would be their "god" (as in creator).

Here's what the new testament says about slavery:

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of god from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free. And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yous in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

Ephesians 6:5-9

So in the eyes of God, all men are equal, whether free or slave. Honestly, how different is working for a large corporation than being a slave? The only real difference is that you have to option to leave and work elsewhere. You still have the obligation to provide an honest day's work, and your employer is obligated (by state and federal law rather than religious law) to provide you with a fair wage. As with any contract whether it is master/slave or employer/employee, there will be some workers who will steal (time or money), and some employers who will unfairly exploit their workers (can you say "I make $ .19/hour making shoes for Nike,"?).
