I want to get out of this country! Old Mon May 28, 2007 5:55:48 AM #38561 Perm Link
The other day my guy stops at a gas station...gas is 3.19, sheesh...so we go around and all the stations are at 3.29.
We go back to the first one and the only gas they now have available is the highest grade, and almost none of the pumps worked.
I'm almost afraid to get my car back, when it broke down about 8 months ago, in Jacksonville, gas at the cheapest was 2.11 and I thought that was pricey...
Then thinking about how fast the rates are growing on stamps...
I hear that we're the country paying the most for everything...wth?
I haven't used my passport but if I had the money, I'd have long been outta here. They'll find anything to charge you on, next thing you know, we'll have rates on how much oxygen we're breathing.

Heh, try living in LA. $3.31 is the lowest I've seen in the area, although most are higher.

Not sure going to another country would help. Commercialism is spreading damn near everywhere, it's an entirely nationality-less disease and I wouldn't be surprised if it took over the world one day (too late!). America just happens to be the first to get the brunt of the attack but you can see it happening all over. Good news, I suppose, we'll likely be dead before we're taken over completely.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

I hear you about the gas prices and the stamps for that matter. It is getting ridiculous. Everything is going up and I don't know about where you work but the pay is staying the same and if you're lucky to get a raise half the time it is measly.

Even now, the US has much cheaper gas than most of the rest of the world. Compared to much of Europe, the taxes are lower as well.

if you want cheap price, then move to Saudi ArabiaSmile. hehehe. Well, unfortunately, we are all bound by the capatalism marketing, so as consumers, we all have to pay for these rediculous prices.

A. We shouldn't have to pay taxes (income and sales).
B. We have many of the cheapest goods in the world.
C. Write your congressmoron about finding renewable energy that doesn't have todo with corn... like sugar beats or switch grass.

I have heard that it is more in places like England, but they don't have to drive miles out to every where and public transportation is better than ours.
That settles it. I've always wanted to go to Antarctica...

I understand and concur with your frustrations about our system. Unfortunately, I don't think the gas prices are much better anywhere else either. Europe's costs are much higher than ours and so are Canada's.

Well, I guess I wouldn't be so angry about it if I weren't worried that the comedian Bruce Bruce might have been right about the possibility of being charged to breathe...I seriously wouldn't doubt it. "You are only allowed 2 tanks of oxygen a day!"

Wait, that's already been done. Remember Woody Harrelson's insane oxygen breathing club/restaurant?

I don't want to leave the country. I just want to be able to get to work without it costing me 1.000.00 more a year. I would ride a bike if it was closer. Or the bus but we don't have bus service where I live.

Haha no I didn't hear about that...is that an actual place or from a movie? I do know they have oxygen bars...I don't get it but I haven't heard of any more lately, they must have lost popularity since people didn't think they needed to pay to breathe!

I believe that they pumped pure oxygen instead of the atmospheric blend that we usually get. In that sense, it is something different.

Blah...I never trusted those things...my job holds fairs that let vendors set up and do stuff like that, I always avoided the oxygen bar. Something just doesn't seem too healthy about breathing 100% oxygen...

I believe it's pretty much the same thing they do in hospitals if you're having trouble breathing or when you SCUBA dive. But since I've done neither, I can't say for sure.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

Sugercane or Switchgrass ethanol or Biodiesel will stop our use of oil.

Ok so I'm finally getting my car back next week and gas prices have went down from that aforementioned 3.19 to 2.95. I am somewhat pleased, and I think the gods are smiling upon me. I don't hate being here so much now, hehe.

Who would have thought that we would be "pleased" that gas is "down" to $2.95? It's a sad comment on the sheeple symdrome.
