Back in the apartment days I always had a container garden. When I moved to my house, it had a lovely English garden which I slowly destroyed through ignorance. Now I've got it about rebuilt to suit me, added a vegetable garden and am revitalizing my courtyard.

Any other gardeners on the board?

I've got some veggies planted outside. They seem to do fine.

I have a little garden but I hate to weed so it doesn't do as good as it should. I love having the fresh veggies though.

I prefer to do soil-less, raised bed gardens. They are a lot less trouble to weed than gardens in the ground. My flowers are in the ground, though. I use myrtle, creeping thyme or juniper as a ground cover so I don't have to weed.

I love gardening. I live in the dark woods with tons of rock all around. So I have gone to container gardening. It works pretty good. I grow carrots, letuce 4-kinds, and onions in them.

I want to grow something now that I finally have a yard...(front AND back!) but I never have time or am too lazy when I have time, so I just throw old fruit out back and hope it grows, and if not, at least some squirrel or bird gets dinner.

I want to grow lettuce, but the freaking rabbits get to it first.

Try a raised bed or a container with a cage of rabbit wire on top. That's the only thing that's saving my strawberries.

I got my first broccoli today! Lots of tomatoes and peppers, they just need to grow and ripen. I should have plenty of cucumbers, too.

We started some watermelons this year in a pot. We have just put them in the ground because they have grown so fast. We have never had any luck with watermelon. Hopefully this year will be different.

We grew some up the back fence last year. They did very well until the school that shares the fenceline with us sprayed their side down with herbicide.

I would love to have a garden, but it's been too dry to even try to plant anything. Maybe next year the drought will be over. :?

I've got veggies, herbs and flowers. I could never decide which I liked best so I plant and grow them all.
