Does anyone care about American Idol anymore? Old Tue May 22, 2007 4:33:57 PM #38308 Perm Link
I used to be a huge AI fan. But, this season has (frankly) bored me to tears. It was funny when Sanjaya was on, but now I don't care one bit who wins the big competition. I don't think Blake or Jordyn have what it takes to be superstars. *yawn* and *ho-hum*
I hope they find a way to spice it up in the future, or I won't be watching again.

No. Never did.

2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!

Never did. But none of them have what it takes to be superstars. I mean, how often do you see the previous AI winners outside of AI events?

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

Don't care, and I get frustrated when it is reported like news. It is so ridiculous.

I never did care about American Idol. In fact, I don't think I've ever watched more than a minute or two, and that in passing. And you're right, technoflutemom, it being reported on the same level as actual NEWS is completely stupid. Like who wins or is kicked off the show is going to affect anyone but them. They've had their 15 minutes (or more) of fame, which is more than most people will ever get. Don't whine, just move on and be thankful for the opportunity!

Never cared about in the first place, the music world doesn't need anymore generic sounding karaoke artists.

Well.. only two have really "made it". Carrie Underwood has been SO successful in the country world and has won numerous awards (including new artist of the year) And, Kelly Clarkson has won Grammys.

Otherwise, the rest have faded away. Chris Daughtry has done well, and I love him.

Ah, but American Idol isn't for country. The fact that she won on it is coincidental, it's likely she would've been big in country (if she is big, I don't listen to country so I really wouldn't know) anyway. American Idol aims to make a pop star.

The Grammys don't mean much, in my opinion, at least not anymore. I suppose she is the closest to being famous, so I'll give you that one

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

The only one who was truly popular was that "She bang, she bang" guy, and he died.

The worst part about this past season was that we had to endure weeks of Sanjaya. That was truly painful.

Carrie Underwood probably would have made it one day without AI. However, AI was the springboard for her to get her foot in the door immediately. She didn't have to "pound the pavement" since she had the American Idol title.

Who really cares really if Sanjaya is a hoax. I feel that he was one of the most untalented ones that ever made it as far as he did. I think him making it into the top 10 was a joke.
