First Disney movie? Old Thu Apr 26, 2007 10:21:43 PM #37395 Perm Link
Do you remember the first Disney movie you ever watched? The first one I ever saw was Bambi, but I started crying so hard when Bambi's mother got shot that my mom had to take me home. Even as an adult, I've never been able to watch that movie again.

The first Disney movie I liked was Sleeping Beauty. Lovely animation, and nobody except the evil witch died. I also liked Cinderella and the cute dancing animals.

According to my mom it was Fantasia, because she took me to see it, but I don't remember. I remember Bambi though... and I too cried like a maniac. Oh I think Snow White was also one I saw very early. My favorite Disney Movie is The Sword in the Stone. Great and funny!

I want to say mine was Bambi also. One of my favorites was Dumbo though. I love just about all the Disney movies even as an adult.

I believe Snow White was the first one I saw, as it was on theater rerelease when I was young. I loved and still love Disney movies <!--s51-->:3<!--/s51--> I also saw The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan at quite a young age. Oh! Also The Brave Little Toaster. My favorite has always been The Lion King, though, although that definitely wasn't the first I saw

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

Was Grizzley Adams a Disney movie? If not, he had to be Bambi maybe. Did they show those movies on that old show, The Wonderful World of Disney?

The first one I remember watching was the Little Mermaid.

I still have the original VHS copy with the penis castle. I also got the dvd for Christmas. Next to Beauty and the Beast it's my favorite.

The first Disney Movie that I can remember going to watch was The Nightmare Before Christmas, though my mother told me we went to see Beauty and the Beast when I was little.

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!

I dislike the fact that The Nightmare Before Christmas has become so popular among the "rebels".

Me too. I don't think most of those rebels realize how old the movie is or that it's a Disney movie (because to rebels Disney is evil. Unless it becomes retro and thus cool). Plus they'll drop it in a few years, like they drop everything. All under the guise of rebelling against fads (when in reality, they're just moving on to a new one).
On that note, it's always amused me that Hot Topic is owned by the Gap.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

Hot Topic, last I checked, was owned by Abercrombie and Fitch. I don't know.

I hate it when I see the kids wearing their anarchy shirts. I've always wondered if they realize that part of buying the shirt was paying taxes, which funds what the government does. Wow.

Hm, upon further investigation I've found that Hot Topic is it's own company (Hot Topic, Inc.) and is owned by neither The Gap or Abercrombie & Fitch, although it's entirely possible either owned shares in the company stock and thus "owned" part of it, since Hot Topic has public stock.

I wouldn't doubt that most of them have no idea what anarchy means. They likely think that it means no police and they can shoplift whatever shirts and candy they want! Nevermind the fact that true anarchy is far from desirable.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

A true anarchy would be much more desirable if it would work, but human nature can't allow that.

My ex-best friends' parents would watch Beauty and the Beast because they considered it to be one of the most romantic and sweet movies of all time. It was kind of cute to see them snuggle on the couch while watching it.

Beauty and the Beast is one of the best Disney movies, in my opinion. It has great appeal and I haven't really found anyone who outright dislikes it. I reckon it is one of the most romantic, despite it's heavy suggestion of bestiality.

Fun fact: I find "Murder, She Wrote" hilarious because I cannot hear Angela Lansbury's voice without seeing Mrs. Potts in my head.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

Lion King. The only movie I went to see with my mom. She doesn't like movie theaters that much. But I think I was like 12 when I saw it.

Inverse fun fact: I can't watch Beauty and the Beast without expecting Mrs. Potts to start expounding upon the evils of Cabot Cove.

I love Beauty and the Beast. This is one movie for all ages, I think. I would love to see the Broadway version of this sometime. Has anyone seen the broadway version? I heard the set design and costumes are unbelievable.

It was good. I saw it when the Sopranos girl was Bell. She was good.

2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!

I wouldn't have the foggiest idea which of the Disney movies I saw first as a child. They were good, but didn't make THAT big of an impression. I guess my favorite would have to be Cinderella, just because I'm a sucker for happily ever afters Huge Grin
