What is the longest you've ever been without sleep?

I woke up this Thursday at 6:00, before my alarm went off. Stayed up all night Thursday trying to finish a freelance assingment. Went to work Friday and worked all day, came home and went right back to work on that stupid assingment. By the time I finished it, it was 6:00 Saturday morning.

48 hours without sleep. Needless to say, I was unconscious all day yesterday (Sunday).

Yesterday was Saturday, btw.

I have been up 72 hours straight once when my friend was very sick. I could have dropped over then. I cannot remember being so tired ever.

I'd say a day and a half, maybe 2 days, when I was a kid and had a nightmare the night before and was afraid to fall asleep again.

4 days..maybe a few hours longer.
My reason: studio projects.
Here, we don't count hours, we count days.

Right now I'm on 2.5 days without.
It's not too bad once you get used to it though.

My longest was 46 hours. The reason: insomnia.. I hated it! It made me sick, to the point that even my tongue was swolen!! But that week was very ough, because I couldn's sleep. First I spent 36 hours without sleeping, and then slep for 4 hours, and then was awake for 46 hours... It was really bad!

Insomnia is awful. I had to deal with it a lot the last couple of months but then by suggestion I took Melatonin supplements and drank a tea with valerian root. It actually helped greatly.

Whenever I stay at my one friends house I can't get to sleep. So maybe around 34 - 36 hours.

Help me destroy the world! ... Pretty please?

I have bipolar disorder, and not sleeping is one of the signs that I'm slipping into a manic episode. Others include spending lots of money on things I don't really need, always feeling "on", having seemingly limitless energy, etc. I don't mind that so much, but the depressive crash that follows a week later usually lands me right on my ass. Don't want to move, don't even want to breathe. I usually don't have such wild mood swings when I'm taking my meds, but I guess bipolar and instant surgical menopause are a bad combination. Hang on, folks. I have a feeling it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Insomnia is what gets me, but I know where the Tylenol PM is and never hesitate to take it when I need it. If I don't get my sleep, I becoome physically ill and I try to get at the very least four straight hours a night.

I reckon only 24 hours. I have very low energy when I get an appropriate amount of sleep. Sleep deprived I usually pass out. How fun =D

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

When I'm a little hypomanic (I, too, have bipolar disorder) I can go days on end without sleep but I get cranky and scattered.

4 days. In labor with my son who was a week late but wouldn't come out. I was in the hospital for a week afterwards because of it.

Dear god, how did they manage to let this happen? That's quite a drain on your resources and not great for the baby either.

In college I used to go three days, sunday Mon and Tues then on Wedsnesday morning I would usually fall asleep in my 8am class sometime within the first half hour. I worked security over night and theatre in the early evenings
