It is sticking pretty well near me. I hope they clear the streets by tomorrow. I'm not about to pull a work from home day again.

WHAT ?! SNOW ON EARTH THIS NORTHERN WINTER ?

2005/2006 was a brilliant year for snow. This winter was lousy.

We had a blizzard last year, got a little over 2 feet. Usually Long Island gets hit with these nor'easters, but so far, the only nor'easter this year went too far north to get a lot of snow. This winter has sucked.

We had a snow storm the other day, and it thundered during it. It was almost a whiteout. That's the second time that's happened in a few weeks. I've never heard of that before.

Thunder snow is awesome. Whenever we get a big nor'easter here on LI, we get thunder snow.

A far cry from the snow falls we used to get back in the 70s and 80s though. I can remember one particularly bad blizzard that dumped so much snow that it we couldn't get out of our door the next morning. I had to jump out the back window and crawl around (on top of the snow)to the front gallery where the shovel was buried. The snow was almost up to the roof at the front of the house. There had to have been 12 feet of snow in the driveway, and dad's car was buried under it somewhere. The snow banks were 20 feet high on both sides of the streets that year. Was kind of hard to shovel snow when there was no place left to put it. Today we get a foot of snow and all hell breaks loose. Wimps!

Is it just me or when you hear "heavy snow" don't you expect it to be snow made from heavy water?

It is regular water with heavy hydrogen.

We had a snow day yesterday. It was pretty cool.

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!

We've had five, using up all of our snow days. We might get a delay tomorrow. We should have had one this morning. It was terrible. Took my mom over an hour to get to work.
