Saw and Saw II Old Thu Jan 11, 2007 10:14:36 AM #31995 Perm Link
Very cool indeed and not at all what I had expected (which was random kidnappers sawing their victims to pieces and no plot what-so-ever). I preferred Saw to Saw II. I really wanted to know who all the other victims were in Saw II and why they were there.

I also watched Flight Plan in the same night but was a little disappointed in that one.

Those kind of movies are not my thing. I don't like to watch horror stuff.

2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!

Saw is one of my favorite movies, for excessive gore (which I love) and for being the first movie in a looong while to actually surprise me (I can usually tell the killer in a movie within a few minutes). Saw is certainly superior to Saw II, but I liked that one too.

Flightplan was horrid. A movie that was similar and done much better was "The Forgotten". I rather liked that one.

Horror is totally my game. The rest of y'all are wimps :3

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

I actually don't like most comedies, although some are actually really good...not the latest ones. Modern comedies are terminally stupid.

Not their fault, though, all creativity has disappeared and left stupidity in their wake. I love animation but all current animation makes me want to vomit because they suck so much

I haven't seen any of the Saw movies yet. There is a Saw IV planned, by the way.

Would you say that they're similar to Hostel? I liked that movie, but I think it could have done without some of the gore.

Saw is better than Hostel (but then again, Hostel was crap...). It has more plot (not the greatest plot ever, but pretty damn good for what'd you expect an average splatter horror would be).

Saw's popularity is pretty much why Hostel was made (so, yeah, it is similar), but Saw (the first one, at least. To a lesser extent, the second one too) has less gore due to the fast that it's pretty much low-budget. I believe Hostel was a... 'Hollywood' splatter-horror. More money so they could show more blood but that's WHY it was made so it lacked any substance...in my opinion.

Not to bang on your movie, I just really hated it XD To each his own, though. My genre is really 'Psychological Horror' and most splatter horrors don't fit in that, which is probably the cause of my dislike. Anyway, if you liked Hostel, you'd probably like the Saw series.

Also - I'm worried about Saw IV because the original creators don't wish to be apart of it which will most likely cause it to suck.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

Speaking of Saw...Dead Silence looks gay. I hate child horror movies they're always so boring and a waste of money.

Those movies were great! I just couldn't watch the part with the needles in Saw II; I have this major fear of needles. Even watching something like that made me sick and just ewww...

I just watched the 3rd Saw. I love the whole series. I think the writer who comes up with the ways to kill people is a sick dude. So sick, it's awesome. I heard Hostel was a just as sick torture flick, but I didn't see that one.

Is that 'child horror movies' as in horror movies for children or as in horror movies centered around children?

Hostel is basically just a torture flick following the 'Foreign people want to kill you' plot.

For children and centered around children...I'd say both. It looks really cheesy and a waste of $7.50.

Hostel is half porno and half gore. I thought that was pretty interesting.

I don't know many children movies that are rated 'R'... Are we talking about the same Dead Silence? Not saying it doesn't suck, I'm sure it does (most horrors suck nowadays...most movies suck nowadays, come to think of it), I'm just confused.

...movie tickets cost $10.00 here...

Dude, it doesn't matter if it's rated R. Kids will see it anyways. You were a kid once weren't you?
Btw, I think it's rated R for retarded.

Most movies here are $7.50 for students unless I go to the one in Texas City which is only $4.

I have not seen either one of them yet. I just basically stopped watch the horrer movies that come out because the ones that have come out for awhile have all been pretty lame. Looks like I will have to check this movie out. I have really only heard good things about it.

I saw any R rated movie my mother allowed me to see...which was most of them. So, yes. But all those movies were aimed at adults, not children. Regardless of whether 'kids will see it anyway', no movie that is aimed at children is rated R because that's the worst marketing move - turn off all the adults who go to see it and have most of your demographic unable to watch. It's very easy to to make a horror movie PG-13 instead to get closer to your intended audience. It may be childish (like the Scary Movie movies, aimed at adults but the humor was very childish), but it's not for children.

The cheapest you can get tickets here is $6.00 for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings =\

I've seen only bits and pieces of Saw, and that was enough for me. I really don't do good with blood, guts and horror. I have a really queasy stomach and get scared much too easily. I find no entertainment value in movies like that! I enjoy some psychologically intense movies, but without too much gore.

Saw 1 was surprisingly tame. I was not bothered by it at all.

I found it to be very intelligent, and the ending was pretty clever as well.

Its not who a person is in the inside, but what he does that defines him.
