Has anybody played it? It looks like a 1930's version of GTA but I don't want to rent it without knowing if it's good or not.

I heard it was okay. GTA beats it by far. It is probably a good game to rent.

2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!

1930's version of GTA? Think about it. 1930's... the cars would only go about 30 mph, max.

Either way, GTA does not beat Zelda. :]

I've played the party game.

OoPart: an artifact that "seems" to be out of context with the surrounding evidence.
Ex.: A fossilized footprint of a human child containing a fossil of a crushed trilobite. Pronounced O-Part.

I never got around to playing Mafia, but relating to GTA, Universal Vivendi Games is bringing out The Godfather this winter, which is also based back in the day where cars were slow.

They're also developing a Godfather version for the next generation consoles.

And then there's Scarface, which is also like GTA, but been delayed till 2006 last time I checked.

True Crime: NYC looks okay, but they really need to fix the controls and camera.

GTA kicks ass. I doubt these new games will stand their ground against GTA: SA, or the next gen GTA.

I have actually played Mafia for the PC, and it isn't even remotely as good as GTA. The driving is incredibly awkward, at least in comparison to GTA, which is simple mechanically yet very fun and entertaining. In Mafia, it's almost a chore to drive, there is too much complexity in it to enjoy. It also isn't as much fun out of vehicles as GTA by any means. I am on the same bandwagon as chickenchop, I'm waiting for the Godfather to come out, that looks promising, although I could also just as easily see it being ruined. We'll have to wait and see I guess...

Thanks for the play mechanics on Mafia. I heard the controls were rough, but now I believe it. Yeah, hopefully, the Godfather will be cool. I might wait to see how it looks for the PS3 version.

I saw State of Emergency at Circuit City for 10 dollars. And it was in a bin. Is there an option to shut off the Crowds and just wander an empty mall, city? That'd be cool. For ten bucks, I'll have to check it out.

State of Emergency is absolutely worth it! As I said in the Rockstar Games pose, it's a fun game to play. There isn't an option to remove the crowds, since it's the only real point to the game. lol

Mafia, as it stands, is the best GTA rip-off made to date (barring, maybe, Simpsons Hit & Run). Back handed compliment? Yes. However, you have to realise that there has been more than 15 of them, all hyped as a GTA killer, all failing as such. Mafia has a far better story than any of the GTA games or the ripoffs (except maybe the first Getaway), is more realistic than any GTA game or its ripoffs (again barring the first Getaway), and is far better quality than any of the GTA ripoffs (barring Simpsons Hit & Run and the first Getaway) and GTA: Vice City. Complex, it is. Complex to a fault, it also is. Fun, it is anyways.

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!
