Anime and Filler

You would think that for anime like Bleach and Naruto (ESPECIALLY Naruto) they could afford to pay some good writers to come up with some filler people actually enjoy watching. Instead, they recycle the same old stories and crappy plots we've seen hundreds of times.

Someone might argue "Well, they need to save the money for the real episodes" but then explain why the actual episodes also are sometimes crappy with overuse of flashbacks (flashback to something that happened only seconds before? What kind of attention span do you have to need that?), poorly drawn animation, and lots of drawing out conversations and battles. There is the occasional episode(s) that are very well done: the animation is flawless and looks very good, the voice acting sounds convincing, music is well chosen. However, those episodes come rarely and make the other episodes look terrible in comparison.


tl;dr hire better writers that can write original, interesting filler.

Agree with you for Naruto. Bleach fillers aren't that often (not 50+ episodes at a time) so you noticed them less. You can always tell a filler when it looks at a tertiary person at the beginning of an episode.

You're forgetting the Bount arcs (which were pretty decent to their credit) and now the excruciating Zanpakuto arc. Even Kyoraku and Ukitake are like "Wth are YOU still doing here?"

Bleach has the same problem that DBZ had in that even the non-filler sections are excruciatingly padded.

No spoiling please. I'm only watching the English episodes.

Where are the English episodes right now?

We're stuck at where Ichigo Spoiler: kills Grimmjow and they'll be starting the next season (I believe it is a filler, though) in April.

Spoiler: He didn't kill him, but Spoiler: Nnoitora hits him pretty hard though. And prepare to be bored to tears with the next arc. It is the reason I started to read the manga, so I could have something to take my mind off of the boring anime plot. Spoiler: I actually thought that Captain Amagai was really replacing Ichimaru before I started the manga
